Companionship Care (Social, Emotional & Practical Support)
Companionship care is a non-medical, in-home service that brings conversation, structure, and connection to everyday life—reducing loneliness and helping people remain confident and independent at home (or wherever they live, such as a retirement community). It’s designed for older adults, people living with disabilities, or anyone whose social circle has changed and who would benefit from regular, friendly company and light day-to-day support.
Who it’s for
People who want regular visits for uplifting company and encouragement; families who need reliable wellbeing check-ins and updates; individuals who wish to stay active and engaged at home and in the community.
What we do
- Conversation and shared interests (reading, music, gardening, crafts, faith or cultural activities)
- Getting out and about (walks, coffee, community groups, appointments)
- Light practical help (simple meals, hydration prompts, tidying, reminders, organising the day)
- Wellbeing check-ins (mood, routine, gentle activity and confidence-building)
What companionship care is not
Companionship care
doesn’t include hands-on personal or clinical tasks such as bathing, toileting, catheter care, wound care, or medication administration. If you need these, we can add
Visiting Care or
Live-In Care alongside companionship to create a seamless, personalised package.
How it works
We listen to your preferences, agree a simple plan (from occasional visits to several per week), and match you with a consistent carer so a genuine relationship can grow. You’ll get clear communication with our office and optional updates for family—making it easy to stay connected and supported.
Companionship Care – FAQs
Companionship is more than conversation—it’s structured, uplifting support that keeps life social and independent. Our FAQs outline what’s included, how outings and routines are planned, and how we can blend in extra help if your needs grow.
Is this just “having a chat”?
It’s friendly company plus purposeful structure—shared activities, light help with meals and reminders, and gentle encouragement to stay active.
Can you take me out?
Yes—walks, coffee, community groups or appointments. We’ll plan outings around your interests and energy levels.
What if I later need personal care as well?
Easy—we can blend in visiting care or increase support, so your package grows with your needs without changing provider.
